What to expect from a 3D-printed kit
Every kit is printed in PETG-HF plastic on our own print farm and shipped unpainted, ready for your glue, your brushes and your table. Here is what that means in practice.
Assembly required
Kits ship unpainted and in parts. You put them together.
Super glue (CA glue) is your friend. A hobby knife, a few files and some sandpaper make the job easier.
Plastic cement, the kind made for styrene model kits, will not bond PETG, so skip it.
Some parts have supports
Where a shape needs it, a part is printed with supports. You may need to snip those off and sand away the little marks they leave.
Small marks are part of 3D printing
Layer lines, a small blob here and there, a few wisps of stringing or minor surface marks are normal for a 3D print. Minor marks like these are part of the process, and most of them vanish under primer and paint.
A broken or missing part is different. See our replacement parts policy below.
A hobby kit for crafty people
If you would rather not trim, glue and paint, our kits are not for you, and that is fine.
WARNING: Choking hazard. Contains small parts. Not a toy; not for children under 14. Trimmed plastic can have sharp edges.
Photos and colours
Any painted photos or video show finished examples, painted by hand. Your kit arrives as unpainted plastic in a single print colour. The grey renders show shape and detail, not the plastic colour.
Broken or missing parts: replacement parts policy
If a part arrives broken or is missing from your kit, send us a photo within 30 days of your order date. Once we've checked it, we print the replacement part free. You pay only the postage, which we show you before you pay.
To report one, sign in to your customer portal with the email you used at checkout, open the order, and choose “Report a broken or missing part”. Add a photo and list the part or parts you need. Orders and support for SummonStudio are handled by World of Game Design (WOGD), the company behind the shop, so the portal lives at atlas.gamecodex.com.
